Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian open up about Blink 182 drummer’s hospitalization

LOS ANGELES – Newlyweds Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian reflect on “a scary and emotional week.”

The couple have opened up about Barker’s recent hospitalization on their verified social media accounts.

“I went for an endoscopy on Monday and felt great,” Barker wrote in a note posted to his Instagram Stories. “But after dinner I got excruciating pain and have been in the hospital ever since.”

The Blink 182 drummer explained that during his endoscopy he had “a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area that is usually treated by specialists and unfortunately it damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube”.

“This resulted in severe, life-threatening pancreatitis,” he wrote. “I am so very grateful that I am currently doing much better with intensive treatment.”

Barker and Kardashian officially married in May and threw a lavish celebration in Portofino, Italy.

She also shared Barker’s note on her Instastories.

“Oh what a scary and emotional week this has been,” she wrote. “Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change.”

The entrepreneur and reality star wrote that she is “thankful to God for healing my husband” and “for all your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support.”

“I’m so touched and grateful,” Kardashian wrote. “I am so grateful to our specialists, doctors and nurses at Cedars Sinai for taking such wonderful care of my husband and I during our stay.”
