Traffic Accident: In a multi-vehicle accident involving two 18 wheel vehicles, the northbound Gulf Fwy lanes were closed at FM 1765

TEXAS CITY, Texas (KTRK) — A multi-vehicle, two-wheeler 18-wheeler accident on Wednesday has caused miles of traffic jams in the northbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway in the Texas City area.

According to police, the accident occurred around 10 a.m. in the 2900 block of the Gulf Freeway at FM 1765 and has closed all major lanes of the freeway.

It’s unclear what led to the accident, but police said officers were on the scene to determine the cause.

According to TxDOT, lanes will remain closed while clean-up efforts continue.

Details on injuries were not immediately available.
