TOTTENHAM ace Dejan Kulusevski sparked controversy during the Premier League clash with Brighton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The seagulls won 1-0 thanks to Leandro Trossard’s late winner at the 90-minute mark against a Spurs side that could have played with 10 men.
That’s because Kulusevski had previously apparently hit Marc Cucurella in the face with his elbow in a duel.
That juventus Loaner gained possession in midfield and passed it back to his defense when Cucurella bumped into him from behind.
The Sweden international apparently thought there was malice behind it and turned angrily when his elbow caught the Brighton the face of the ace.
That Tottenham star was not sent off for the incident, sparking fury on social media.
Some fans believe Kulusevski should have received his marching orders with a direct red card.
One fan wrote: “Very happy.”
Another wrote: “As a Spurs fan I think that should have been a red!! Lucky to be on the pitch!!”
And a third tweeted: “It’s a scandal that he’s still on the pitch.”
Former Tottenham ace Jermaine Jenas agrees Kulusevski should have been sent off.
Jenas told BT Sport: “No, I think it’s a red card. I think he’s trying to use force, which falls under the judgment of violent behavior, he’s trying to elbow Cucurella in the face.
“That is subjective to the referee and how he sees it or reads it. The problem I had is that I don’t know how he didn’t take that as trying to hurt someone, which would fall under the violent behavior rule, and being a straight red card.
“I think Tottenham got away with one and Kulusevski got away with one, which is unfortunate for Brighton.”
That didn’t cost Brighton, however, as they still managed to nab the three points.
That was a major blow to the North London top-four hopes.
