Toni Cornell shares the cover of ‘Hallelujah’ – Billboard

At just 17 years old, Toni Cornell revealed the musical genes she got from her late father. Sound garden/Audio speakers singer Chris Cornell.

Teen artists have on Instagram on Wednesday (January 5) to share an emotional, acoustic cover of Leonard Cohen’s classic “Hallelujah.” While playing guitar in front of a glittering Christmas tree, Toni sang the lyrics perfectly with a control beyond her years.

“Back to Xmas night,” she captioned the clip alongside glittering hearts and emojis. “Revisited Hallelujah.”

Just last month, Toni pay tribute to her father on Tonight’s show with a cover of the emotional power ballad “Nothing Compares 2 U.” The song, originally written by Prince for his sub-group The Family, appeared on the 2020 Cornell cover art compilation after signing up. No One Sings Like You Anymore, Vol. first.

Cornell, 52, died in May 2017. He was found dead in his Detroit hotel room after a Soundgarden performance at the Fox Theater earlier that night.
