Tonawanda man admits to possessing hundreds of child pornography images

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — A Tonawanda man pleaded guilty to possession of hundreds of child pornography images, US Attorneys announced.

Officials said that in December 2021, 38-year-old Michael Szczepanik’s IP address was identified on a website that shared child pornography files. In February 2022, an arrest warrant was issued at Szczepanik’s home and electronic equipment was confiscated containing over 600 images and videos of child pornography, including those depicting prepubescent minors and depictions of violence against children.

Szczepanik has been charged with possession of child pornography and faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced on December 18.
