Tommy Fury prepares to withdraw from fight with Jake Paul – Tyron Woodley Rematch Rumors

Tommy Fury is set to withdraw from his highly anticipated fight with Jake Paul at the end of this month due to injury.

Former Love Island star, brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, played by YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, on December 18. Paul could instead be scheduled for a rematch with Tyron Woodley, whom he defeated via split decision in eight rounds in August.

The Fury-Paul fight has been exaggerated by both the boxers and their camps, including Tyson Fury and his father. A recent promotional press conference descended into chaos when a flurry of vulgar insults directed Paul’s girlfriend Julia Rose by Fury’s father John.

Each boxer has vowed to end the other’s fledgling boxing career with a victory in Florida, but now it looks like Woodley will head into Paul’s bout at the 11th hour.

Woodley recently criticized Paul for allegedly avoiding a rematch. Talking to MMAJunkie, he said: “Jake Paul is ab *** h. He didn’t want to fight, like, ‘You did it too late.’ No, you just didn’t want to fight, and they gave you a way out, and you took it and ran. It’s like a kid in the playground, ‘Na, na, na, na, na,’ when they know they didn’t really win.

“Most of the people who watched the match felt like I won. I really don’t leave a loser in a war. My ceiling doesn’t look any different now.”

The pair have verbally agreed to a rematch after their first fight, with Paul insisting he will only face Woodley again as the MMA champion has an ‘I love Jake Paul’ tattoo. Woodley eventually made it but Paul says his opponent missed his chance.

Paul told TMZ Sports: “At [Woodley] got a tattoo that we switched to. We moved on to fight Tommy Fury and get the talks going. I don’t think people really wanted to see Tyron vs Jake Paul again, so he took his chance.”

Their first fight was controversial, Woodley appeared to be holding back as he gained the upper hand, and then there were claims that the former MMA fighter was “not allowed” to contract Paul down.

“Tyron Woodley, from what I’ve heard, it says in his contract that he’s not allowed to take out Jake Paul,” said Dillon Danis, MMA Bellator promoter and longtime partner of Conor McGregor, above Time MMA on Youtube. “I swear anything, that’s why when Jake Paul was up against the ropes, Tyron Woodley didn’t hit him. I’m talking to you right now. It’s in his contract where it says you’re not allowed to disqualify him. “ Tommy Fury prepares to withdraw from fight with Jake Paul – Tyron Woodley Rematch Rumors
