‘To get this deal’: Sky pundit ‘surprised’ by Leeds’ transfer call for long-distance specialist

Michael Brown says he was “surprised” that Daniel Farkes Leeds United were able to sign Joel Piroe from Swansea City this summer.

After being relegated to the Championship, Leeds United were keen to strengthen their attacking areas, even if defense was the biggest problem.

And they wasted no time in pushing for the signing of Joel Piroe, with Brown declaring that the Dutchman is what he says is a “really good signing”. Sky Sports Football (8/29/23 at 7:10 p.m.).

After scoring 46 goals in 96 games for Swansea, the 24-year-old joins Elland Road with a very strong goalscoring record, although one of his additional strengths is his ability from distance (who scored).

So it came as no surprise that he scored on his league debut for Leeds as Leeds secured a chaotic 4-3 win over newly promoted and promoted Ipswich Town.

It certainly increases Leeds’ chances of promotion back to the Premier League and Brown praises the signing even if it surprised him.

“Piroe is a really good signing,” Brown said. “He fitted in straight away. I was surprised they were able to close this deal.”

Farke has to close the transfer window

Leeds will likely still be busy signing players ahead of Friday’s deadline.

But Farke probably can’t wait for the window to close because it was disruptive.

Players on loan, left, right and centre, followed by others who refused to play.

It hasn’t been an ideal start off the field for Leeds but the faster the window closes the easier it will be for Farke to focus on the task at hand.
