Sampson called his son “charismatic” when speaking to WESH 2.

“I wish I was there to tell him I love him. That I’m sorry. That he loses his life. So young, and I wish I was,” said Yarnell Sampson.

“I want to know what happened to my son. I want to know why my son is in a white bag and needs to be sent home. He went there.

“Why can’t he go back? I want answers from everyone.

Yarnell told WESH 2 he learned of his son’s death by watching video of the incident at ICON Park, which shows Tire sliding out of a ride and falling to the ground.

“It felt like someone hit me in the stomach so hard. I just lost, I lost, lost my breath.

“And the pain behind it could never be taken away and I’m sorry I won’t take it back and no money no nothing on earth to replace the young man.

“And it’s just sad that a young man’s bright future was taken away from a ride, an amusement park,” said Yarnell Sampson.

Meanwhile, the family who brought Tire to ICON Park on that fateful night have spoken out for the first time since the incident.

Speak with FOX5 New YorkHer friend Dior Moore described Tire as “like a brother”.

“Even if it wasn’t my brother, it still feels that way. I’ve still experienced it that way. This experience that will never go away. do you know what i’m saying It’s so heartbreaking.”

Dior’s brother sat next to Tire on the ride.

The girl’s mother, Kelly Ross, was Facetime with Dior when the incident occurred.

From her point of view, Kelly says it didn’t seem like Tire wouldn’t fit in the ride’s seat.

“The operators didn’t say, ‘No, we think that’s going to be a problem.’ They didn’t question anything. He tapped it and I thought it was ok,” she told FOX5.

Kelly told the outlet she feels guilty for taking Tire with her on the trip and has a message she wants to share with other parents.

“Check, be sure, feel ok and comfortable with the situation.”
