Tim Allen opens up about Tom Hanks’ friendship on The Kelly Clarkson Show

You (always) have a friend in me.
Actor Tim Allen recently opened up about his relationship with longtime Toy Story co-star Tom Hanks while he guest-starred on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday.
“I don’t think I’ve ever trusted a person as much as Tom to listen to me and vice versa,” Allen said.
Allen provided the voice of the legendary “Buzz Lightyear,” while Hanks is the voice behind cowboy “Woody” in the hit franchise that began in 1995.
“Tom and I have become really close friends since Toy Story 1,” Allen said. He’s a completely different person than me and he eats off my plate. I come from a family, you don’t do that.”
Allen recalled eating with the ‘Forest Gump’ actor in the ’90s and stealing some fries from his plate, prompting Allen to teach Hanks about plate limits.
Allen revealed that the two get together often and have “the weirdest lunches,” which began during production of the first “Toy Story” and has progressed to multiple times a year.
“We’re like two older women because we’re sitting almost too close together at a booth, it’s just weird.”
During the interview, Allen mentioned the differences between the two actors, including their points of view.

“He and I are different in so many ways, I adore this man, his heart and his mind,” Allen said.
The two have “very different opinions on so many things, but he made me accept that he’s a really wonderful, caring person and is the first guy to listen and not judge me.”
Allen, who is known to be crossing the line by adding some “political commentary” to his shows, recently faced backlash over a few lines on new series The Santa Clauses.
