Siri replied, “I don’t know what time it is.

TikToker Mayanoraa, posted a videotapes she questions Siri on her TikTok @mindfultraveller with over 40k followers.

In the video, she also asks Siri about the time in Israel, to which the voice assistant replies: ‘In Jerusalem, Israel, it’s 13:20 now’

Determined to expose Apple’s apparent prejudice against Palestinians, she asked Siri about her time in the Palestinian cities of Ramallah and Hebron.

Siri said, “Sorry, I don’t know what time it is in Ramallah. The same is true of Hebron.

Ramallah is currently the administrative capital of the Palestinian National Authority.

‘Hey Siri, what time is it in East Jerusalem?’ was also met with the same answer.

Mayanoraa told Metro.co.uk she noticed the problem when Read about Pegasus spyware and the veil for the Palestinians in the Sheikh Jarrah movement.

“I’m still wondering how the algorithm works and why Siri doesn’t recognize Palestine’s time zone when Android phones do,” she said.

Users were outraged in the comments calling for a boycott of Apple for siding with Israel, which is accused of violating human rights and illegally occupying Palestinian land.

‘I just tried this and got the same results. ” one TikTok user said in the comments.

‘Omg, this is horrible. I just tried it with my Siri and it can’t tell me the time or the weather in Palestine or East Jerusalem,’ another user said.

This comes after Israel’s deadly bombing campaign in Gaza that left some 227 people dead, including at least 63 children.

The writers, members of the Apple Islamic Association, specifically asked the company to recognize that ‘millions of Palestinians are currently suffering from illegal occupation’.

This isn’t the first time Palestinian erasure has been featured on technology. Apple and Google have previously accused removed Palestine from their online map, even though it was never labeled in the first place.

Searching for Palestine on Apple Maps and Google Maps shows outlines for the Gaza Strip and West Bank territories, but no labels for Palestine.

‘It’s not fair and justice has nothing to do with nationality. It seems that peace is a privilege instead of a human right. In my opinion, “small” things like asking Siri if it’s not political right now,” said TikToker from Jordan, Iraq, and the Netherlands.

NS Conflict between Israel and Palestine is a 100-year-old problem, with Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip extending 54 years of conflict.
