A disgusting thug who locked a boy in a car for days without food and hit him when he tried to escape has been jailed.
Riki Ross Kake, 40, of New Zealand, was sentenced today to 13 years in prison by Christchurch District Court.
He pleaded guilty to 28 felonies including assault, kidnapping, intentional harm, strangulation and sexual conduct with a young person under the age of 16.
He also admitted to sexual conduct with a young person under the age of 12, attempted rape, sexual assault through unlawful sexual unions and death threats.
Kake blamed a nine-year-old boy for “every little thing that occurred” and manipulated the boy, telling him he was forbidden to speak to others.
The monster regularly put the child in a car alone as a “punishment” when frustrated.


In one instance, he ordered the boy to go a day without food in the car and attacked him when Kake saw him trying to sneak into the bathroom.
The boy later became weak and collapsed after being held in the car for four days and nights without food.
In another example of his frightening behavior, Kake repeatedly punched and kicked one of his victims in the jaw, “which caused [the boy] Feeling a headache to such an extent that he could hardly stay awake”.
Three of his six victims gave heartbreaking testimonies in court, recalling the “horror” Kake brought into their lives.
In a statement on the victim’s impact, one said: “I’m not worried about the scars you’ve left me, it’s the emotional damage that will last.”
They claimed Kake’s traumatizing behavior had persisted for years and said they had developed trust and anger issues, as well as anxiety.
Crown Prosecutor Pip Currie has urged 24 years in prison with an additional year sentence for Kake’s earlier act of violence while in prison. stuff reported.
Defense attorney Serina Bailey said her client was remorseful and “very mortified”.
She asked the court to consider the rehabilitation efforts he had made and his chances of reintegration into the community if he spent a long period behind bars.
Speaking briefly in court, Kake said, “I’m sorry, I’ll live with this for the rest of my life.”
Judge Brian Callaghan found it undeniable that Kake’s insult caused significant emotional and psychological damage.
