Three firefighters were killed and another seriously injured after they were trapped in a house fire in Maryland

THREE firefighters died and another was seriously injured following the collapse of a home following a house fire in Baltimore on Monday morning.
Firefighters were trapped inside as the building collapsed in a double-alarm fire on Monday morning.
“Today, Baltimore lost three of the bravest of us: Lieutenant Paul Butrim, Firefighter/Firefighter Kelsey Sadler and EMT/Firefighter Kenny Lacayo,” said Mayor Brandon Scott.
“All made the ultimate sacrifice. For that, Baltimore owes them the deepest gratitude and respect.”
The fourth firefighter, John McMaster, is in hospital with what Scott describes as “critical but stable condition.”
“This is a painful tragedy for our city, the Baltimore City Fire Department, and most importantly, the families of our firefighters.”
Baltimore Fire Department Superintendent Niles Ford also issued a statement about the three deaths.
“From this moment on, we will honor those we lost today, for their bravery, their courage, their love of helping others, and the respect they have for the Department of Rescue. Baltimore City Fire.”
