Thousands of families can get FREE cash up to £120

CASH households struggling to make ends meet can get a FREE £120 payment to help with essential expenses.

With just over two months left for the plan to run, there’s still time to earn some free money to keep the bills going.

As costs soar in the UK, many families turn off the heating and cut their food bills just to make money.

Food prices inflationary reached 3.5% last December – highest since spring 2020 and overall Inflation has hit a 30-year high is 5.4%.

Family is set to be Discount £1,700 a year because of the cost of living crisis.

It is not uncommon for many households to be choose between heating or eating, as essential expenses eat into people’s wages more than before.

Therefore, it is important to take advantage of all available assistance, including the Government’s HSF program.

The scheme has a total value of £500m to be broken down and delivered to councils across the UK.

Each local government will collect a different amount depending on the area and need.

What help you can get depends on where you live and your personal circumstances, so you will need to find out what is offered in your area.

To find your local government, you can use the government utility local council testing tool.

Epsom and Ewell Borough Council (EEBC) has been awarded £166,000 to support the region’s most vulnerable people.

And residents in this area can get up to £120 for essential expenses.

Funding structure

How much you get depends on your circumstances. The maximum amount of £120 is reserved for households with two or more children.

Those with one child can receive up to £100, and vulnerable residents without children can get up to £70.

Of course, whether you get anything depends on your eligibility, which we’ll get to shortly.

If you are successful, the money will be transferred as a BACS payment to your bank account, but will not be a one-time transfer.

You will receive your prize in two installments if the cash amount awarded is over £20.

And remember, you don’t have to pay this amount back.

EEBC distributed its first round of funding before the new year and said the second round will be awarded in February 2022.

So it’s important to apply early to avoid missing out on the next round – especially as the board will stop funding as soon as funds run out.

Am I eligible?

Eligibility criteria for EEBC are as follows:

  • Be a household living in Epsom & Ewell on October 6, 2021;
  • The applicant or their partner is receiving a Council Income Tax Discount or Council tax assistance on 6 October 2021; and
  • Households with less than £6,000 in savings

What if I don’t live in Epsom and Ewell Borough?

If you do not live in this local government, you cannot apply for help.

But there may be help available in your own area.

Your local government will have its own plan based on their budget, and you should contact that agency directly for more information.

Supermarket or fuel vouchers, cash for White goods or Full payment are all forms of support we have seen other councils provide.

Eg Runnymede Council is spending up to £500 for the cost of repairing or replacing white goods, while the Family is at Derbyshire can get up to £144 for utility bills.
