HSF has provided funds to UK councils so residents feel winter costs are too high.

The total value of the pot was £500 million, but the local government was given a different portion depending on demand in the area.

Eg, Birmingham awarded £13mLeeds £7m and North East Lincolnshire just under £2m.

To find the funding agency for your area, simply enter your postcode into the local council checker on the government website.

If you find out you are not eligible for HSF, you can apply help your energy supplier instead.
