This raunchy act is the key to a hot sex life, experts say

Do you want better sex?

Have your lover play alongside you on your next solo session.

Researchers have found that mutual masturbation boosts sexual satisfaction — meaning this might be the surprisingly simple secret to a torrid sex life.

Forget adventurous new positions or fast-paced roleplay, self-pleasure in the presence of a partner seems to enhance actual lovemaking.

The study, conducted by psychology professors at the University of Southampton in the UK, asked 268 participants about their intimate activities and the emotions associated with them. The results were published by the International Journal of Sexual Health.

“Mutual masturbation refers to the presence or involvement of a partner or partners during self-stimulation, which may occur before, during, after, or without other sexual activity,” the professors explained.

The 268 participants consisted of 117 women and 151 men aged 18 to 65, all of whom were in a relationship.

While masturbation is usually thought of as an activity done alone, scientists found that it’s surprisingly common for couples to play side by side.

Just over half of the respondents (50.7%) said they had masturbated to each other in the two weeks prior to the survey.

Participants were then asked about 23 feelings about their sex life and asked to rate the strength of each feeling on a scale from one (not at all) to five (very strongly).

Those who masturbated to each other were more likely to report positive feelings than those who did not masturbate in the presence of a partner.

“Mutual masturbation could expand couples’ sexual repertoire and increase sexual satisfaction,” the researchers explained.

Meanwhile, the hot study also found that both women and men masturbate at a similar rate, debunking the old stereotype that men are more likely to masturbate.

According to the study, 63% of the male participants masturbated in the “few days” before taking the survey without anyone else present.

Meanwhile, 56% of women admitted to being boisterous of their own accord during the same period.

These results confirm a Self Pleasure Report 2019 conducted by sex toy company Tenga.

For this study, researchers surveyed 10,000 adults in nine countries and found that women masturbate almost as often as men.

However, the technique differs by gender: three out of four men look at porn to get off, while just over half of women do. Additionally, nearly 40 percent of women use an external vibrating toy, compared to just over 5 percent of men
