THIS Morning star Fern Britton ended her “fetish” with former co-host Phillip Schofield in a sweet tribute video.
The TV presenter appeared on ITV show Lorraine to congratulate her co-star on an impressive 40 years on television.
Fern, 64, co-hosts This Morning with Phil, 59 years old, from 2002 to 2009 before she passed away shortly after the couple failed.
She looked like she was burying the rooster as she sent her old friend a taped message on his special day, congratulating him on his hard work on the televison.
“It’s an incredible milestone and it’s time for you to stop and look back and see all that you’ve achieved and be proud of it,” Fern said.
“I’m wishing you a very happy future. Congratulations and keep going.”
Back in 2009, Fern was only halfway through her £1.5million This Morning deal when she made her announcement.
The celebrity star stated that she feels “underrated by ITV” and believes she is “living in Phil’s shadow” on the show.
It was reported at the time that Fern was reportedly being paid £250,000 less than his co-star in Mr and Mrs.
While Fern denied she left because of pay, she hinted that it was This Morning group that caused her to leave early.
Years later, Phil admitted to Heat maagzine that the old friends no longer spoke to each other following the tense incident on the show.
“We were on the show and mates at the time, but we didn’t really talk,” he detailed. “We don’t communicate with each other now.”
He went on to detail in his autobiography, Life Is What You Make it, that he was “stunned” by her after accusing him of “interfering”.
Phillip wrote: “I walked into the make-up room and calmly said, ‘Please don’t do this to me again’.
“I think, for whatever reason, that’s the point Fern decided she didn’t want to do This Morning anymore.”
When one feud seems to be over, another seems to flare up when Eamonn Holmes described the tribute to Phil as “bizarre”.
Eamonn was dropped from his sixth place on This Morning With Wife Ruth Langsford in November 2020 after 14 years.
He liked a tweet that read: “This #lorraine show is so weird.. why not celebrate 40 years on #thismorning instead of another show?”
This week, Eamonn hit back at an ITV insider’s claims that he became unpopular with This Morning viewers before he was criticized.
His reps say they refuse to believe that “research” has shown his popularity has waned before he was dropped by ITV.
Eamonn also retweeted a message from his Intertalent representative Jonathan Shalit, who said: “Don’t believe a ‘source’ who has said anything official.
“Untrue research shows that viewers no longer want @EamonnHolmes to rank better than others on the show @thismorning @GBNEWS often beat @SkyNews@BBC brought his Ranch back to the Festival. “
This morning before The presenter, 62, also liked a post saying his previous employers made a “big mistake” in firing him from the show.
