ROLF Ellmer has made an exemplary contribution to dance music.
Tried and tested over time under a number of names including Jam El Mar, Jam and Spoon featuring the late great Mark Spoon and of course Storm.
The groundbreaking ’90s track Storm by Storm has been breathed new life into the modern dancefloor by Irish techno heroine Rebūke and is available now.
We met Storm and he told us: “Rebūke’s reworking of ‘Storm’ represents the perfect blend of techno presence and roots! If you want to set a floor on fire, this one is for you!”
Hailing from Ireland, Rebūke has developed a global appeal with his unique sound that blends techno, house, ’90s rave and more. His evolving production has garnered millions of streams, has worked with CamelPhat and Alan Fitzpatrick, garnered loyal support from BBC Radio 1 and has had regular releases in the Beatport Top 10 Charts. His breakthrough release Along Came Polly via Hot Creations secured #1 on Beatport, while most recently his Wasp EP on Adam Beyers Drumcode was his most successful EP to date, with support from Pete Tong, Carl Cox and Adam himself after the previous success of his EPs Obscurity and Rattle.
Rolf aka Storm also took the time to walk us through an amazing selection of dance music for the weekend, including Rebūke’s new adaptation of Storm.
Rebūke vs Storm – Storm
An on-spot remake by Rebūke of the 1996 original that I did with Mark Spoon! The atmosphere of the original is superbly preserved and lives on!
Rebūke – rattle
This track really put Rebuke in my focus! A unique lead sound that sets Rebuke apart from the rest combined with a driving techno groove – banger!
Jam & Spoon – Follow Me (Thomas Schumacher Remix)
Thomas breathed new life into our early 90’s track “Follow Me” and made it available for the contemporary dance floor.
Jam & Spoon – Right In The Night (Balthazar & Jack Rock Remix)
Another great example of an amazing reconstruction of our biggest worldwide hit. Fits on every dance floor!
The Age Of Love – The Age Of Love (Watch Out Stella Remix)
Mark Spoon and I did the remix in the early 90’s. When nothing works on the floor, this splint will get the job done!
The House Of The House – Cherrymoon Trax (Jam El Mar Remix)
I had the honor of remixing this very track that became a techno classic. Always an eye-catcher and sets the floor on fire!
Michael Klein- Yuzu
I loved the track from the moment I heard it. The sequence will mesmerize everyone in the room – pure fire!
Jam El Mar-EVO
The first release on my own label Jam El Mar REC, bringing the vibe of the early 90’s into the present.
Sam Paganini – Rave
This track will never die. If you want to add class to your set, you can’t miss this!
Bart Skils, Weska – Shadows of Summer
Driving and atmospheric at the same time. This track will be one of my favorites for a long time!
