The world’s best Excel users battle it out in a head-to-head tournament

If you’ve ever wondered about the identity of the greatest Microsoft Excel wizard to walk the planet Earth, today is your day.
Over the weekend, Microsoft sponsored an e-sports competition that featured has nothing to do with League of Legends or Counter-Strike.
Instead, Financial Modeling World Cup (FMWC) brings together the greatest Excel brains from around the world to compete for the $10,000 (£7,500) grand prize.
On Saturday, competitors rallied for the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals complete with announcers, live commentary and scorecards.
All were streamed live on YouTube, and the warriors were tasked with case studies containing real-world problems, along with six to 15 questions of varying difficulty. More difficult questions reward more points.
As for what they really need to do, Rules of the official website Outline ‘Participants will have 40 minutes to solve a case prepared by the organizers. Participants will be asked to solve a business case through creating a financial model and answering a number of questions related to the model. ‘
The emergent winner was Australian Andrew Throne, who beat Canadian Michael Jarman in the final.
