The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update PC bugs and performance issues fixed by CD Projekt Red

That Next-gen update for Witcher 3 was unfortunately a mess on PC with bugs and performance issues commonly reported by players. The Witcher 3 Reddit and the Community Hub on Steam are full of reports of framerate stuttering and other stability issues affecting fans with a variety of PC specs. Fortunately, CD Projekt Red is aware of these issues and is working on a patch to fix the most noticeable bugs and glitches.

CD Projekt Red actively “investigates” bugs and performance issues

A tweet from The Witcher Official Account has confirmed the issues PC gamers are experiencing due to The Witcher 3’s next-gen update. They hope to deploy a patch as soon as possible and are asking for patience from players despite having months to test it beforehand.

A user on Twitter replied to CD Projekt Red’s tweet with just an example of the graphical issues (posted above). It looks like Geralt is walking through a field of razor blades pretending to be grass.

Numerous Reddit users are reporting that the next-gen update ruined their gaming performance even after updating their drivers and disabling ray tracing. One user is reportedly baffled by the performance issues as the person’s rig is capable of processing Cyberpunk 2077 in 1440p with all ray tracing options enabled.

At this point, until CD Projekt RED can fix the game, we recommend players to remove the next-gen update if it’s causing problems.
