The White House orders the media to continue sanctifying Joe Biden

The White House has finally made official what it has been hinting at for more than two years: Any journalist who reports on President Biden’s misdeeds and corruption is betraying American democracy.

The latest call for loyalty oaths comes in response to House Republican leadership launching an impeachment inquiry into corruption in the Biden family.

The White House leaked a draft letter it will send to major media outlets urging them to “increase their control” over House Republicans “for launching an impeachment inquiry based on lies.”

The effort to preemptively soften media criticism of President Biden is being led by Ian Sams, the White House’s official spokesperson for oversight and investigations.

He received this title because “Baghdad Bob” was already taken.

Sams said Wednesday that all those phone calls to Hunter during busy meetings were just proof that Joe Biden “loves” his son.

In May, after congressional investigations uncovered a vast multimillion-dollar Biden family influence network, Sams tweeted that “allegations against the President are nothing more than innuendo and innuendo.”

Sams is the Chicken Little of the Biden media team.

Whenever Republicans or the media criticize the president, Sams hyperventilates as if the death of democracy is imminent.

Some observers are stunned by the audacity of the White House’s latest demand for media subservience.

But Team Biden may be panicking because a federal appeals court has shut down heavy-handed censors at the White House and other federal agencies.

The court unanimously reinstated part of an injunction from a July 4 court ruling that prohibited federal officials from “compelling or substantially encouraging social media companies” to share “social media content containing protected free speech.” suppress.

Democratic candidates won’t benefit from censorship nearly as much next year as they did in the 2022 midterm elections.

So if Team Biden can’t sneak out the back door to kill embarrassing stories, they’ll have no choice but to sound the trumpets and call on the media to help block the front door.

And here comes the Ian Sams Histrionic Show to town.

Sams is outraged by the media”[c]“To dismiss the impeachment proceedings as a trial story” is “a disservice to the American public, which relies on the independent press to hold those in power accountable.”

Except the White House.

In this draft letter, Sams complained that “in the modern media environment…” . . Every day, liars and dealers spread disinformation and lies everywhere, from Facebook to Fox.”

Same here, with the exception of the White House.

Perhaps Iam Sams can create a story about Biden’s youth, similar to George Washington and the Cherry Tree – an apocryphal tale that proves that Biden was always irrevocably honest, despite facts to the contrary.

Why not just let Ian Sams ride a pink pony into the press room every day and sprinkle magic dust that wipes reporters’ memories?

In fact, most of them have no memory beyond 48 hours, so that would be a waste of good magic dust.

The president faces a monumental challenge.

In 2020, Biden won thanks to a “basement campaign” in which voters rarely saw his physical and mental struggles and his blatant lies about Hunter Biden’s laptop and other issues were rarely questioned.

But as the congressional investigation approaches, Biden’s 2024 campaign will have to seal his entire life (or at least all of his records) in an underground bunker.

Iam Sams’ edict on mandatory media subservience is just another branch of Team Biden’s faith formation in Leviathan.

The Department of Homeland Security proposed the Disinformation Governance Board early last year to combat any person or group that seeks to “undermine public trust in government institutions.” (The New York Post helped destroy this monstrosity.)

The FBI has a task force of 80 agents working to curb “subversive data used to drive a wedge between the public and the government.”

How much more compliance can the White House squeeze out of the press corps?

Biden’s re-election prospects depend on the White House’s efforts to demonize critics.

But if Joe Biden really had nothing to hide, the White House would have nothing to fear either. Will Americans settle for presidential piety instead of transparency?
