The Walking Dead finale: Actress Rosita explains why she wanted the character dead in the final episode

The leadership Living Dead Actor whose character was killed in the very last episode, it turns out, clinched her fate.
The series finale of the long-running AMC zombie drama aired on Sunday (November 20) and included a showdown, returning characters and a few nods to future spin-offs.
While the final seasons, the 11th, saw few main characters die, the show had one final tragic twist up its sleeve.
*Spoilers to follow – you have been warned*
Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) watched in horror as Rosita (Christian Serratos) fell into a horde of strays – but breathed a sigh of relief after she broke free and used her gun to kill the walking dead around her .
However, a few scenes later, Rosita tells Eugene that her death is imminent after showing him a stray bite on her back.
At the end of the episode, she is helped to her deathbed by Carol (Melissa McBride) and bids one final goodbye to her young daughter Coco and longtime friend Eugene.
Fans of Rosita, who joined the show as a supporting character in season four and became a main character a few years later, were dismayed by her death. However, it was apparently Serratos’ own decision that Rosita died.
Speak with Weekly entertainmentSerratos expressed his happiness that the show’s producers were open about their wishes after the episode aired.
“I didn’t know they would be so accommodating,” she said, adding, “I’m so happy to be able to talk about this. I’ve been on the show for so long, and when I saw the show, one of the things I really loved about it was that it made me emotional. It tugged at your hearts.”

She continued: “[The] Pulling on your hearts was something I really fell in love with about the show. And I really wanted people to have that emotional experience, especially in our finale. I think on a show that was about potentially losing loved ones, you end up wanting to lose someone.”
Serratos said she felt the show “owes it to the fans to break their hearts one last time.”
The actress revealed she came up with the idea after finishing work on the 10th and penultimate season after realizing the finale might not kill anyone.
“I was so lucky to survive my character in the comic and to stay on the show for so long,” Serratos continued, saying, “I love these people. And frankly, I wasn’t ready to go.
“It’s so sad to think about her passing, but it kind of gave me a sense of completion because being an actor can be very psychological. You spend so much time pretending to be that person and you get very close to them. It’s like a bond between you and the character.”
Serratos also said she’s glad she’s not “living in limbo” over whether her character will return in the many spin-offs that have been announced.

“I couldn’t know if she would ever come back or not. It would drive me insane,” she said. “So it really helped me, Christian, to have a degree. And I really think it made sense for Rosita. I mean she was so willing to die for her loved ones and her child and I just thought it made real sense to her.
