The Wake County Sheriff is calling for a runoff election

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) – Acting Sheriff of Wake County Gerald Baker has called for a runoff election following election results that showed Willie Rowe taking first place in the Democratic nomination.
Rowe, 62, won with 29.45 percent of the vote. That number is just under the 30 percent needed to avoid a runoff.
Baker, who confirmed to CBS 17 that he is calling for a runoff, ended the primary with 24 percent of the vote for him.
On the Republican list, former sheriff Donnie Harrison was the clear winner with 80 percent of the vote.
