The View slams Second Amendment after Brooklyn subway shooting

The co-hosts of ABC’s liberal daytime gabfest, The View, spent an entire segment of Wednesday’s show railing against the Second Amendment and blaming it for gun violence in the United States
The segment, which began with a gunman attacking the New York City subway on Tuesday, consisted of the Liberal co-hosts, who bemoaned laws passed in Republican states allowing concealed carry without a permit, claiming other Western countries have no experience of gun violence in the US because they have no gun rights protections.
“The usual accusations that the left is too soft on crime while red states like Georgia are making it even easier to get guns are thrown around,” said co-host Joy Behar after mentioning the attack in New York City .
“This appears to be a tragic and uniquely American problem. I don’t understand why we can’t solve this problem,” she added, noting that guest co-host Julia Haart told her before the show that other countries don’t have the same problems because “all the guns don’t exist overall.”

“These countries don’t have a Second Amendment and that’s the difference,” Behar said.
Haart claimed that the Second Amendment was “the problem” and that there was “almost no gun violence” in countries like the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
“When you take away guns, you take away gun violence,” she explained, to which Behar agreed and co-host Sunny Hostin said, “That’s absolutely true.”

Guest co-host Alyssa Farah jumped in, arguing that there were “too many guns in the streets,” but noted Democrats were pushing.disappoint the police” Politics as part of the reason for the increase in crime in US cities
Hostin blamed Republicans for the rise in crime, citing their opposition to gun control measures proposed by Democrats. She then claimed that there were actually higher levels of gun violence in states and cities controlled by Republicans than in those controlled by Democrats.
Farah pushed back by stating that the top ten are cities with the highest crime rates all democratically controlled.

The panel continued the discussion, with Hostin lamenting what she believes is a lack of training for people who handle guns without a license, and Behar calling the idea that people in New York City might be allowed to do so as a concealed firearm to wear, “crazy”.
Support for stricter gun laws sankand last November hit its lowest level since 2014, with just 52% of Americans supporting the implementation of stricter gun control laws.
