‘The View’ actress Ana Navarro was upset for calling the mosque ‘yuck’

Ana Navarro fans have reminded the star to be respectful of other cultures – after complaining that she had to remove her shoes when visiting a sacred site in Turkey.

The View host, 51, and her husband Al Cárdenas, 75, were exploring Istanbul on Wednesday, where the TV personality shared photos of herself at a mosque in Galataport.

in the pictures, shared on Instagram, Navarro posed for photos with his hands on his hips. Accompanying the snaps was a lengthy caption, in which she told her followers she wished she had “worn socks” in the mosque to avoid walking on the disgusting floors.

“When entering a mosque like Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque, you must remove your shoes and cover your hair and shoulders. You are not allowed to wear shorts/miniskirts etc,” Navarro wrote, adding, “I wish I had worn socks. Walking barefoot on a carpet that millions walk on is a bit gross to me.”

The co-host added that it’s important to remember to wear clothing that’s appropriate to the culture, “because the alternative is to wear a poncho they buy there or a musty, drab, olive-colored scarf, that you lend to cover your hair,” she said.

“They open their doors. It’s their country. your norms. Your beliefs,” she added. “We are guests here and we have to be respectful and comply. Still, the architectural, historical, cultural and religious significance are worth visiting.”

Navarro ended the Instagram post by confirming to her followers that the pages are a must.

“You really can’t come to Istanbul without seeing these sights,” she quipped.

Her followers were delighted with the star’s respectful encouragement, and many said they had visited Turkey themselves.

“I totally agree Ana!! Everyone go on your journey,” said one follower. “Exit the US, but be respectful! Remember that you are a guest in someone else’s home…act accordingly. #travelislife #explore #bekind.”

“I also never wear shoes in my house and keep booties by the door for anyone who walks in,” one fan commented. “If you knew what you found on the bottom of your shoes, you would never wear shoes in the house! You look very fitting to be in a mosque!”

Navarro fans recently gushed about her physique after she flaunted her weight loss. The Emmy nominee for the day said the secret was pickleball and taking Pilates classes three times a week.
