Video footage released Thursday showed the hallway where gunman Salvador Ramos opened fire on his grandmother before attacking primary school students and teachers at Robb Elementary School.
Ramos’ grandfather, Rolando Reyes, describes to a reporter how blood splattered the wall after Ramos shot his grandmother.
The gunman then took her car and crashed near the elementary school in Uvalde, Texas before rampaging.
The first glimpse of the house comes two days after the mass shooting that killed 21 people, including 19 children and two teachers.
The hallway still had bloodstains on door frames, walls and possibly even the ceiling, the video showed.
“The way I see it, I don’t know, but there’s blood everywhere, we have to clean that up,” says Ramos said a freelance journalist while pointing at a wall.
Reyes told the journalist who recorded the video that there was a pool of blood near the door, but that his sister and a friend cleaned it up. He told her he didn’t see any bullet holes when he got home after the shooting.
Warning: graphic contact
The grandmother, Celia Martinez Gonzales, 66, was in stable condition after surgery at a San Antonio hospital, her granddaughter told the Post earlier Thursday.
The latest on the Texas school shooting
Officials revealed more details about the massacre Thursday, including the fact that Ramos was not confronted by a school security officer when he entered the school through an unlocked door.
The video showed several picture frames hanging around the house with more knick-knacks and other picture frames displayed on a corner table. Two bedrooms can be seen from the hallways and there were also religious objects including a cross hung in the hallway.
