Video obtained by The Post shows the chaotic moment a stolen car jumped a curb and crashed shortly after a grandmother was hit and killed and her 8-year-old grandson injured.
Video shows the gray 2021 Honda HRV jumping the curb and clipping a third victim – before the driver and another man recklessly drove away without stopping to examine the wreckage.
The frenzy spanned five blocks and began when police officers approached the vehicle after noticing it had mismatched license plates and its occupants appeared to be smoking marijuana, officials said.
The vehicle sped down Ralph Avenue, then crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic and struck a 28-year-old cyclist head-on, officials said.
The driver of the fleeing Honda then sidestepped a parked and unoccupied Nissan Pathfinder before plowing into Lynn Christopher, 67, and her 8-year-old grandson, both of whom were crossing a crosswalk, cops said. Christopher was killed and the child had to struggle to survive.
Next, the fleeing vehicle struck the left front fender of a 2021 Honda Accord as it passed the Ralph Avenue intersection on Halsey Street. That prompted the Honda HRV to climb the pavement, where it plowed into a 43-year-old man carrying two shopping bags before crashing into a motorcycle and the outside of a building, video shows. The injured man was taken to Interfaith Hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the Honda Accord, a 24-year-old woman, was transported to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.
Police were still looking for the driver Tuesday.
