The UK is set to be hotter than the Costa Brava as temperatures of 16C are set to persist into the weekend

Sunshine and dry weather for the rest of the week
It’s going to be quite pleasant for this week, said BBC Weather’s Tomasz Schafernaker, with sunny and dry weather.
“In the south, where winds will be light, temperatures are around the mid-10-inch range. Then on Thursday and Friday the high pressure builds up across the UK, indeed a major high pressure spreading from Eastern Europe to the edge of Ireland so lots of stable weather,” said Mr Schafernaker.
“You can see the winds blowing around the high here. Northern and western parts of the country right in the middle of this high, where the weather will be sunniest, winds lightest and as a result will have the highest temperatures around 15C to 16C.
“And this high pressure is also expected to continue on Friday, Saturday and into Sunday, although it will be a bit windy at times.”
Mr Schafernaker continued: “The highest temperatures will be 16C in Liverpool, for example, but it could be as little as around 12C on the Cornwall and Devon coast. Then Saturday to Sunday this high pressure is still with us.
“The winds will change direction a bit around the high, they’ll be more from the south and southeast, which generally means lots of dry weather and pretty decent temperatures.”
