The third suspect is charged in connection with the murder of a 71-year-old robber outside a McDonald’s in east Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) — A third person has been arrested and charged in connection with a 2021 robbery that left a 71-year-old woman dead outside a McDonald’s in east Harris County.

Lawrence Earl Thomas, 40, has been charged with the murder of Martha Medina, according to court documents.

The fatal robbery occurred on September 23, 2021 at Block 400 of Uvalde Road. Medina was robbed outside the restaurant. After the robbery, the suspects hit her with her car and sped away, authorities said.

Medina was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Andrew Williams, 40, was also charged with murder. According to records, Williams was on bail at the time of the robbery related to a previous capital murder charge in 2019.

Another suspect, 39-year-old Felton Ford, is charged with involvement in organized crime, according to authorities.

Ford and Williams are accused of robbing Medina.

Ford is accused of acting as a lookout while he and Williams followed Medina to McDonald’s and it is alleged the two spoke on the phone during the robbery attempt, authorities said in 2021.

According to records, Thomas is accused of intentionally causing Medina’s death by hitting her with a vehicle.

Thomas is expected to appear in court Thursday night.
