The Texas Medical Board is suspending Spring’s doctor after an on-shift drinking incident at the clinic

dr Zahra Piyar Ali MD was suspended on June 21st. According to a statement from the board, the panel determined that Ali is unable to safely practice medicine due to her “excessive drinking.” Ali reportedly resigned from her position following an incident in which she reportedly drank during her shift at her clinic.

A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as reasonably possible with 10 days’ notice to Ali unless Ali specifically waives the hearing, the board said.

The temporary suspension remains in effect pending further action by the Board.
