The Silent Sea Trailer promises a Korean sci-fi thriller series on Netflix

The movie comes out on Christmas Eve.
Netflix just released the trailer and promotional images for the new series Serene. specimen from an abandoned lunar base.
The series is based on the short film Peaceful sea, written and directed by Serene manager Choi Hang-Yong. The series will expand on the short film’s premise, focusing on a backward future in which space travel becomes essential due to climate change. The stars of the project Gong Yoo, who previously starred in Train to Busan and the hugely successful Netflix series Squid fishing game. Yoo acts as the team leader for the moon mission. Bae Doona, who previously starred in the Netflix series Sense8 are also the stars of the series. Also joining the cast are Lee Joon of the Vampire Detective and Heo Sung-tae. Not much is known about the characters’ dynamics or the exact troubles they’ll face, but you can catch a glimpse of each of the core cast in the new promotional images below:
Jung Woo Sung will executive produce the series. Netflix announced the series in December 2019. Serene Following the great success of the Korean series Squid fishing game launched on the streaming platform earlier this year. Record success of Squid fishing game have shown that non-English series can find a large audience and Serene, which is also a Korean-language project, is sure to prove competitive in the holiday streaming lineup.
The series will premiere on Netflix on December 24, 2021, on Christmas Eve. You can check out the teaser and the first character poster below:
