The shooting at the Plazamericas shopping center left at least one person dead, with a general suspect being surrounded by police.

POLICE responded to an incident at the PlazAmericas Mall in Texas after reports of a shooting were made Wednesday.
Shots fired inside a shopping mall in Houston, Texas. A representative for the Houston Officer Union Police said that a deputy and the suspect were shot and taken to nearby hospitals.
More than a dozen Houston police officers, EMT units, and fire crews responded to the scene.
At this point, it’s not known which agency that agency is involved with, and the suspect’s condition is also unknown.
The motive for the shooting is unclear.
“HPD and PIO commanders are on their way to an officer involved in the shooting at a business at 7500 Bellaire Boulevard,” Houston Police said on Twitter, Houston police wrote on Twitter.
“Further updates will be provided here. No other information available at this time. ”
