The second victim of the Highland Park parade has been identified as Jacki Sundheim

Another victim of the senseless shooting at the Highland Park parade has been identified as a devoted member of a local Jewish community mourning their loss on Monday night.

Victim Jacki Sundheim was remembered for her kindness and tireless service to the North Shore Congregation Israel, the synagogue said on its website. Sundheim was one of six people killed after a gunman opened fire from a rooftop during a July 4 parade in suburban Chicago, police said.

Sundheim was a “lifetime” community member and a “valued” community worker for decades, according to the statement.

“Jacki’s work, kindness and warmth touched us all, from her early days as a teacher at Gates of Learning Preschool, to her guiding countless of us through moments of joy and sadness as our Events and B’nei Mitzvah Coordinator – all this with tireless commitment,” the community shared.

“There are no words sufficient to express the depth of our sorrow at Jacki’s death and our condolences to her family and loved ones,” the Reform Judaism congregation continued. “We know you join us in our deepest prayers that Jacki’s soul will be bound within the protection of God’s wings and that her family will find some comfort and comfort amid this boundless grief.”

The other victim identified so far in the parade shooting was Mexican-born Nicholas Toledo, who was a grandfather and father of eight children, his family said.
