The Salem family includes four positive COVID-19 tests; Father and daughter in ICU – CBS Boston

SALEM (CBS) – Salem teen Kylie DeCelle has tested positive for COVID, and she’s worried about the rest of her family. Her father, Mike, and sister, Mikayla, were intubated at Mass General Hospital.

“I’m really worried about my dad and my sister, but I’m also really worried about my mom right now and I really miss her,” Kylie said. “There’s not really much that we can do for them right now, and I feel really bad.”

Kylie’s mother, Erica, is also at MGH, but not a patient. She is holding her little daughter’s hand. The mother got the COVID vaccine because she is expecting their third child this winter.

Kylie explained: “Her baby shower was supposed to be next week, but obviously we had to cancel all of that.

The family said Mike promised his wife he would get the vaccine before their son was born in February. Mikayla, who just turned 12 this weekend and is scheduled to shoot her scene, is in the ICU.

“Without them here, everything is quiet. I really miss them so much when my sister upsets me, I really miss them a lot,” Kylie said.

Friends who organized an online fundraiser said they were overwhelmed by the North Shore’s generosity and wanted to remind anyone still on the fence to make an altruistic choice.

“I was very against shooting. I have done my research. I don’t do it for me, I do it because I don’t want to bring it home for my kids,” said family friend Ryan LeMay. “You have to suck it up. Let’s shoot. ”
