The Queen is expected to have a family Christmas at Sandringham this year

The Queen is currently planning the festive season and is expected to enjoy a family Christmas at Sandringham following celebrations in Windsor.
The 95-year-old has suffered a number of health problems in recent weeks and was forced to cancel public meetings on the advice of his doctors.
She mostly rests, doing ‘light’ tasks or doing video calls with people.
But it is understood she has been given permission by doctors to host the annual Christmas party for her extended family in the run up to December 25.
The private party is scheduled to be held at Windsor Castle – where the Queen has lived since the start of the pandemic – rather than Buckingham Palace, where it is traditionally held.
If the encounter can continue, it will be the first time the Queen has hosted the event since 2019.
After the event, the king will travel to Sandringham in Norfolk, where the royal family traditionally celebrates Christmas.
The Queen usually travels to Sandringham by train but is expected to make the journey this year by helicopter.
The head of state is also said to be looking to make a public appearance over the next two weeks to wish the country a Merry Christmas, the Daily Mail reported.
It is understood the hope is that the Queen will be able to engage in a short-term public engagement on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
A source said: ‘This won’t be a normal Christmas, but like many families across the country, it will be as normal as possible.
The Queen was last seen in public at a Windsor Castle reception on October 19, after which she was forced to call off several engagements on the advice of doctors.
Last year, the Queen chose to speak in Windsor over Christmas in times of pandemic but normally she would go to Sandringham.
While in Sandringham, the Royal Family visit St Mary Magdalene’s Church every Sunday, including on Christmas Day, when members of the public can traditionally gather to catch a glimpse of the Royal Family and guests their.
The Queen usually stays at Sandringham until February, after which she will return to London.
Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment.
