The petition began to shut down the Orlando ride after the teen’s death

The family of the 14-year-old boy who fell to his death on a ride at an Orlando amusement park are calling for the attraction to be permanently closed.
Tire Sampson died after falling from the freefall ride at ICON Park while completing about half of his 430-foot descent on Thursday.
“I want this ride to be dismantled,” said Tire’s cousin Shay Johnson, Fox 35 Orlando reported.
The drop tower will remain closed while authorities investigate the fatal fall, but the family has started a new petition calling for the closure to go one step further.
“My cousin lost his life on this trip. I don’t think it’s safe and I think it should be closed before someone else’s family has to go through what we’re going through,” Johnson added.
One of the signers of the petition agreed that “this ride needs to go”.
The person identified as Ashanti wrote: “It’s not fair for anyone to come and drive this ride. It’s not fair,” the news agency said.

Isaiah Edwards, a TikTok content creator who visited a memorial at the tragic site on Sunday, also signed the petition.
“We have children of our own, so this is someone’s child when it matters most. And any kind of compassion that you have as a human being, you’re going to try to get down here,” Edwards said, Fox 35 reported.
“As a role model in the TikTok industry, I believe we can do this. Show our support and help the family,” he added.

According to reports, balloons will be deflated before the ride in honor of the late teenager at 6pm on Monday.
