BEIJING (Reuters) – Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding fired a female employee who accused a former colleague of sexual assault earlier this year, the government-backed Dahe Daily newspaper reported. news by the end of Saturday.

Dahe Daily interviewed the employee, saying she received notice of termination in late November and published a copy of what she said was her termination letter.

The letter said the employee spread false information about the assault and the company’s failure to handle the case. It added that this “causes strong social concern and has an adverse impact on the company”.
