The musician goes viral on TikTok after releasing his debut album on the Game Boy Advance

A musician on TikTok recently went viral after re-leasing his debut album on Game Boy Advance cartridges, and yes, you can buy a copy.

Music artists often release their older projects on various mediums to allow fans to expand their collections. We’ve seen artists release albums on 12″ vinyl or outdated cassette tapes just for a unique memento.

This can sometimes be taken to the extreme when artists lock their music behind a specific platform. Country artist Garth Brooks, for example, has signed an exclusive multi-year deal with Wal-Mart, allowing fans to enjoy his music only this way. Also, Kanye West recently released Donda 2 on his Stem Player, stating that it won’t be available anywhere else.

Electronic dance musician Slow Magic, however, takes a rather creative approach to making his music available on a wide variety of platforms.

Triangle now available on GBA

On April 20th slow magic posted a TikTok announcing that his debut album “Triangle” is available on the Game Boy Advance. He is shown inserting the custom cartridge into a Game Boy Advance SP and shuffling through a few songs.

The album also features visuals for each song, including the official music videos for the respective tracks. And the limited edition is available now.

The Game Boy Advance release is a limited edition to celebrate the album’s 10th anniversary. It comes with a Game Boy Advance game box with album art and tracklist.

TikTok states the cartridge will work with any Game Boy Advance system, and they’re demonstrating the experience on a custom GBA SP.
