The stunning filming locations used in Alice Hart’s Lost Flowers almost seem like their own characters throughout the series, but where exactly was this captivating series filmed?

While green screens and CGI give TV and filmmakers the power to place their characters in any setting imaginable, there is little substitute for real-world locations. The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart has landed on Prime Video on Friday 4th August 2023.

Based on the novel of the same name by Holly Ringland, the series tells her story over several decades and follows the life of Alice Hart.

When she was just nine years old, Alice lost both her parents in a mysterious fire and was taken to live with her grandmother June, played by Sigourney Weaver.

As Alice grows up under the watchful eye of June throughout the series’ episodes, Alice begins to learn that her family’s past is full of secrets.

Where was Alice Hart’s Lost Flowers filmed?

The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart was filmed in the New South Wales and Northern Territory regions of Australia.

Filming on the series began on October 29, 2021 and lasted almost five months before ending on March 25, 2022.

The production took place mainly in the state of New South Wales with well-known locations such as the cities of Syndey and Grafton.

The cities of Ulmarra and Macksville are also part of the series and serve as locations for the library scenes, which were filmed in a coffee shop, and for John’s police station, which is actually the former Macksville Hospital.

Some of the series’ beach scenes were filmed at Pippi Beach near the town of Yamba, while fans may also see St Paul’s Anglican Church in Cobbitty also featured in one scene.

Meanwhile, in the Northern Territory, film crews used locations in the rural town of Alice Springs.

Where is the Thornfield farmhouse?

One of the main filming locations of the series is Thornfield Flower Farm, where Alice lives with her grandmother.

To create this iconic location, the Prime Video film crew used the Bickham Homestead in Blandford, which is located in the Hunter Valley near the New South Wales towns of Scone and Murrurundi.

The home was first built in 1875 and sits on a vast 133 acre lot which includes a floodlit tennis court and swimming pool.

Inside the home, which was renovated in 1995, are a whopping seven bedrooms and four bathrooms.

The house was last sold in April 2021 was listed for a staggering $2.65 million.
