The Last of Us trailer reveals Yellowjackets’ Melanie Lynskey starring Pedro Pascal

HBO has released an official teaser for its highly anticipated TV adaptation of The last of usRevealing Yellow jackets Star Melanie Lynskey in the cast alongside Pedro Pascal.
The highly anticipated show is based on the popular, post-apocalyptic PlayStation game of the same name and will premiere in 2023.
It follows Pascal’s Joel, a hardened survivor who travels across the United States after being struck down by a deadly disease. He is joined by a young girl, Ellie (portrayed by game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey), who plays a pivotal role in discovering a cure for the zombie-like plague that is decimating society.
The trailer features key moments from the video game, such as Joel and Ellie escaping a quarantine tent, a series of skyscrapers collapsing, Ellie riding a carousel with Riley, a childhood friend, and Joel with his daughter Sarah in the making of The Escapes Pandemic.
Lynskey, whose casting has been kept under wraps, is set to play Kathleen, the ruthless leader of a revolutionary movement in Kansas City Weekly entertainment.
Other cast members include Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandrige, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Pierce and Anna Torv.
Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who voiced Joel and Ellie in the video games, will also make appearances.

A continuation, The Last of Us Part IIwas released in 2020 and also received critical acclaim.
