HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A family is searching for answers after a paramedic was killed in another misguided wreck on Westpark Tollway.

Five people have died in toll road crashes since July. The most recent incident happened on Saturday and it was all captured on surveillance video. Footage from the scene shows a car slamming over a bus near Fondren, then crashing into a working ambulance Sarah Kaderli.

Sarah’s parents, Steven and Sheila Kaderli, live in Fredericksburg. They said Sarah is living and working in Houston as a paramedic, because she loves helping people. Her death was painful, unfortunately, familiar.

Steven said: ‘Her oldest brother died in a car wreck 23 years ago.

He and his wife know what it feels like to lose a child. That’s why they said they kept Sarah, 31 years old, private.

“We ran tracking on the phone between her and us. When I woke up on Saturday morning, I saw things I didn’t like about her tracking situation and where the phone ended,” he said. speak.

Sarah was killed when a suspected driver on the Westpark Tollway crashed into the private ambulance she was working for. The damage at the scene was so severe that investigators have yet to find out who was behind the wheel.

“An accident is unintentional. It can be avoided,” said Kevin Hubbard, of the Precinct 5 Conference Office.

One person per vehicle was killed. Another person is in critical condition, one outside the hospital is recovering.

The Kaderli family said they forgave the person who caused all this harm, “There was something wrong in their lives, and that’s what created the situation. We have forgiveness for them. with them.

They are also finding peace when Sarah, described as giving and caring, died while helping people. That knowledge helped advance their faith.

“He got us through so many things. That’s how we got through the first thing. That’s how we got through this. It was our belief in God and knowing God has a purpose for us. everything,” the couple said sadly.
