As the events of Armageddon come to a climax, Barry Allen must deal with Thawne once and for all in this week’s episode of The Flash season 8.

The fifth episode of the Armageddon event begins with the other end of Barry’s warm call with Joe before he runs there for a second, and the two reconnect. This moment is broken when Damien Dahrk appears – but not the villain. Damien wants the time stone he and Barry used to repair the Reverse-Flash Point. Damien retrieves the artifact, while Barry continues to reunite with his friends and family. However, when Thawne was committing a crime at the Central City police station, Barry walked over to save the day.
Before the fastest man alive can stop Thawne, the future Green Arrow (Katherine McNamara as Queen Mia) is there in 2021 looking for her brother, William. The Flash and Green Arrow disarm Thawne before their arch-nemesis demands to be saved by Barry Allen so he doesn’t disappear from the timeline. While Barry and Team Flash decide whether or not they want to save Thawne, Mia Queen is outraged by her heroes for even considering saving the man who caused them so much pain. painful and will likely do it again. Iris talks to Mia privately, and when the expert journalist converses with the professional marksman, it is discovered that William was taken away two years ago, and Mia has been searching all that time.
The Flash Season 8 Episode 5: Team Flash is divided
While hearing different opinions on the matter, Barry went to the source and talked to Eobard Thawne about his life. Barry asks why Thawne doesn’t like Barry, and we all learn about how The Flash stole his moment two centuries from now and vowed to kill Barry Allen. After talking to Despero about Thawne, Team Flash is split with Barry, Iris, and Caitlin voting to let their historical foe die and Chester, Allegra, and Joe attempt to save him, with the patriarch delivering a blow strong on his children. Despero, who wants Thawne to die for nearly causing Armageddon, begins trying to force Mia Queen to do her bidding.
Barry and Iris talk to their party and make their decision, with Caitlin and Frost agreeing, and they decide to remove Eobard Thawne’s speed just like Jefferson Pierce did to Barry and deliver him. for Argus to keep. While they were working on this plan, Despero appeared in STAR Labs and informed the heroes Mia would listen to him because Barry was not. Barry, understandably annoyed, tries to stop Despero, and the two fight around Central City. At STAR Labs, a mind-controlled Mia confronts Team Flash before Iris passes and reminds her to stay strong and think of her brother. Mia repels Despero’s powers and comes to the conclusion that he must be the hero the world deserves, not The Flash.
The Flash Season 8 Episode 5: The Final Battle With Despero
Barry and his teammates regroup and figure out how they will stop Despero from pursuing his Machiavellian “heroism”. The group comes up with a plan, but it stalls because Barry’s speed is weak and it is necessary to bring Despero’s magic and fire-like powers into the atmosphere and nowhere near the Central City. Chuck steps up with a box and says he did something after Barry gave him the Reverse-Flash Point-Chuck was built to bring Barry back to the main timeline.
Inside this box, we discovered it was the comic book Golden Boots for The Flash. With these shoes, Barry can finish Despero once and for all, actually stopping Armageddon. In STAR Labs, Barry returns just in time to take away Eobard Thawne’s speed and save the life of his worst enemy. Thawne responds with Barry doing what he wants by getting upset that Thawne is a psycho and believing that his speed is his life.
The Flash Season 8 Episode 5: Team Flash celebrates their big win
The episode ends with a private, luxurious and flashy party, with Team Flash being the only ones invited. Damien Dahrk shows up and is heartbroken to learn he’s alive because it means his daughter Nora is gone. Joe talking to him aside, and they bond over being great dads. Damien said a magical prayer, handed the time stone to Joe, and disappeared. In a bright room, Damien and Nora interact briefly before the former villain’s daughter shows up at Team Flash’s party. Joe comforts Nora, who has just lost her father again, and the two go somewhere private to talk. Barry closed the Armageddon event with a heartfelt and beautiful speech.
However, the final scene shows some CCPD officers who Thawne had previously attacked walking around the station, which focuses on a station photo from 2014. The familiar faces are Joe. West and Eddie Thawne. That was until some familiar golden lightning flashed over the hanging picture. After this blip, Bart and Nora appear in the back row of the photo.
