AJ ‘did everything in his power’ to stay at Serious
AJ Odudu said she did everything in her power before being forced to withdraw from the Strictly Dance final because of a torn ligament in her ankle.
TV presenter and partner Kai Widdrington will compete Saturday night with soap star Rose Ayling-Ellis and partner Giovanni Pernice and baker John Whaite and partner Johannes Radebe for the glitter trophy.
Appearing on the BBC’s It Takes Two spin-off for its 1,000th episode, she said: “I really did everything in my power to be on that dance floor. I asked the doctors if I could dance in the moon boot.”
Partner Widdrington, who cried during the interview, said: “We really hoped we would push the boundaries and dance in the final, we had a lot of fun dancing but the injuries were too severe. and at the end of the day, AJ’s Health is more important.
“We earned our spot in the final.”
Co-host Rylan Clark-Neal showed the pair a reel of highlights from the moment they were on Strictly to dancing, saying it was “fun” to watch them.
