THE EVIL mother of murdered toddler Star Hobson could be sentenced to extra jail time next month after appealing her lenient sentence, we can reveal.
Frankie Smith, 20, was jailed for eight years in December after a jury at Bradford Crown Court convicted her of causing or allowing her own child’s death.
She stands by her violent and self-styled lesbian partner No1 Psycho, Savannah Brockhill, 28 years old, murdered a defenseless 16-month-old star.
Even her family is appalled at the gentle saying will see her released from prison after serving only four years.
Smith’s grandfather, Frank, 68, was one of five people who alerted social services of the horrific damage caused to Star in her short life.
These included broken bones, cracked ribs, a broken 12cm skull and numerous bruises all over her face and body.
Frank – who delivered footage of the bruised star – told Sun Online: “We have been informed that the hearing will take place on March 15.
“The verdict is too lenient. I think everyone can see that – I just hope the court agrees.
“She is my niece, but justice should be served to Star.
“It’s not right for her to be released from prison at the age of 24, having served only four years, and to be carried on from where she left off.
“She’ll have her whole life in front of her. That’s not justice anyway, not in my eyes.
“I would like to see her sentence increased to the maximum possible taking into account the seriousness of what she did.”
The maximum prison sentence for causing or allowing the death of a child is 10 years – but Frank added: “It should be even longer.
“I can’t bear to think of the suffering Star has gone through. It weighs heavily on my mind every day.
“Frankie and that monster deserved everything they got.
‘JUSTICE FOR THE STAR’
“The country is sick of these lenient sentences and lessons will be learned. We want justice to be served.”
The impotent star was so battered that by the end of September 2020, she was unable to stand let alone walk.
She was punched, slapped, kicked, pinched and strangled in the months leading up to her death by cruel amateur boxer Brockhill.
Smith turned a blind eye as she repeatedly used the tot as a punching bag.
The Attorney General appealed Smith’s conviction and sent it to the Court of Appeals for review.
“This is a tragic and deeply heartbreaking case and my thoughts are with everyone who loves Star Hobson,” said Suella Braverman.
“This innocent and vulnerable child was subjected to repeated physical abuse, and his mother, Frankie Smith, allowed it to happen.
“This case will be offensive to anyone reading about it, but it is my duty to decide if a sentence seems too low based solely on the facts of the case.
“I have carefully considered the details of this case, and I have concluded that I may refer Frankie Smith’s conviction to the Court of Appeals because I believe it is unduly lenient.”
Brockhill’s life sentence and minimum 25 years in prison will not be appealed.
Total, social services missed five important opportunities to save Star from her tormentors.
A serious case review of her murder and the failures that led to it has been conducted.
Star’s devastated Anita Smith, 70, warned them: “I don’t want her to be another Baby P.”
She added: “Social services have blood on their hands and should bow in shame.”
Her case has a chilling effect on the brutal murder of six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, who was killed by his cruel stepmother, Emma Tustin, and father, Thomas Hughes.
Tustin and Hughes’ sentences would also be considered by the Court of Appeal.
