FORT MYERS, Fla. – An Eastern Crying Owl is in recovery after being reported to have fallen from its nest in Fort Myers.
According to Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic (RAVEN)Baby owls were admitted to their facility after falling from their nest “very high” above the ground.
The hive is thin and severely dehydrated, with ticks covering its entire body and crusting around its nostrils, wildlife officials said.
Veterinarians gave the animals fluids, medications and treatment with anti-mite sprays.
Rehabilitation staff said the cubs had begun to become more active and had been fed.
