A BODY found in the woods has been confirmed as missing teenager Imogen Tothill after she was unable to return home.
17-year-old girl’s devastated friends hail her as “beautiful” in heartbreaking tributes after she was found dead in Cheshire on Wednesday.
Police and family members launched a massive search for Imogen after she failed to return home to Holmes Chapel in Cheshire on Tuesday.
A body was found in the woods on Wednesday – with police now confirming it was Imogen’s.
Cheshire Police said: “Official identification has now taken place and the body has been confirmed as Imogen Tothill.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.
“Our thoughts remain with Imogen’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
Imogen’s friends have posted messages about their grief on social media.
One said: “I knew this day would come… I just wish it wasn’t so soon.”
The young woman said she views Imogen as a “sister”.
“When I say you’re worthy of the world, I mean you’re the world to me, and I would give it all for you,” she said.
“You have so much to offer and so little time to show people.”
She added: “She is one with the stars, her true home.”
