The Blind Side family has splurged on private jets and expensive travel

The “Blind Side” family, who “adopted” Michael Oher, reportedly forfeited the ex-NFL player not only the multi-million dollar paycheck she got from the blockbuster film, but also squandering the money on private jets and expensive vacations issued and brazenly documented shows off on social media.
Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, both 63, are showing off their expensive trips on Instagram, where they have been photographed multiple times in front of a Cessna Citation Bravo private jet.
According to aircraft charter companies desert jetA ride on the seven-seat jet will cost travelers about $3,100 per hour.
If the Tuohys bought the plane, they could have spent upwards of $2 million, depending on the model year.
In other social media posts, Sean and Leigh Anne are seen enjoying a getaway in Park City, Utah.
Leigh Anne tagged the location of the photo as St. Regis Deer Valley, a luxury ski resort where nightly rates average over $1,000.
Other contributions feature her in other far-flung locations, such as in Paris next to the Eiffel Tower, posing next to Italy’s Leaning Tower of Pisa and with Sean in the Middle East.
Just a few weeks ago, Leigh Anne filmed herself and a large group of friends getting off a party bus to see the Barbie movie, and in June she filmed Sean spending the afternoon cruising around in a red Ferrari .

Elsewhere, Leigh Anne also appears to be a frequent visitor to Disney World, with a slew of photos in front of Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom from what appears to be at least four visits to the theme park in the past two years.
The Tuohys — who are now reportedly worth a combined $75 million — live in Memphis, Tenn., where Loud Memphis Business JournalThey own a total of five different properties in the Shelby County area.
Oher reportedly lives in Brentwood, Tennessee with his family and appears to have no relationship with the Tuohys.
The former offensive tackle star doesn’t have any photos of the Tuohys on his Instagram, nor does he follow any of his former “family members.”



Much of the Tuohys’ wealth stems from the success of The Blind Side, thanks to a deal Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy struck with the film’s producers.
According to the explosive court documents filed Monday, the Tuohys and their two biological children each received $225,000 in royalties from the film plus 2.5% of the film’s net proceeds, while Oher reportedly received zero.
The blockbuster film hit theaters in 2009, starring Sandra Bullock as Leigh Anne in a film that follows Oher’s life story as a homeless black teenager who is adopted by a wealthy white family and becomes an NFL star.
Recent court filings also revealed that Sean and Leigh Anne never actually adopted Oher, 37, but instead had him sign a conservatory agreement that allowed the Tuohys to legally do business on Oher’s behalf.
Meanwhile, Oher uses his Instagram to promote his business ventures, including his latest book, When Your Back’s Against the Wall, which chronicles his experiences of poverty, marriage and having four children.
The Blind Side grossed $309 million and Bullock won the Best Actress Oscar for her performance, while fans raved about the touching film, which was said to be based on a true story.


Armed with a whopping share of the proceeds, Sean, Leigh Anne, and their daughter Collins are enjoying the sun around Alys Beach, an exclusive enclave on the Florida Panhandle that allows only residents, renters, and their guests access to the beach club and waterfront.
Although it’s unclear if the Tuohys rent or own a home in the area, Alys’ website shows homes for sale valued at over $6 million and rental properties with nightly rates over $500.
And another snap shows Sean putting his arm around his son, SJ, at Bay Hill Golf Club in Orlando, an expensive enclave where charter dues are reported to be $30,000, not to mention annual dues, which add up amount to around 8,000 US dollars.
Despite recent luxury spending, the couple appeared to be living a comfortable lifestyle even before the film’s debut.
In the early 2000s, the Tuohys bought over 100 different fast-food franchise locations, including 115 Taco Bell and KFC stores and seven Freddy’s Frozen Custard stores, through their restaurant company RGT Management, the company said franchise times.


The couple also owned the real estate underlying 64 of those restaurants, the Times reported, though they sold all but 11 Taco Bells — all located in Florida — when they dissolved RGT Management in 2019 through six separate transactions involving the Tuohys grossed $213 million.
Prior to The Blind Side, Sean became a commentator for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies in 2001, where he has worked ever since while Leigh Anne pursued a career as an interior designer.
Due to the film’s success, Leigh Anne and Sean co-wrote the novel In a nutshell: Sharing the power of joyful givingwhich went on to become a New York Times bestseller, and Leigh Anne served as head of the design team on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
