The bizarre Pokemon Legends Arceus glitch has trees fighting you instead

A weird, if rather hilarious, Pokemon Legends Arceus bug caused a player to fight a tree instead of a mon, leaving them stumped (pun intended).

Since its release in late January 2022, the Hisui region has seen a ton of bugs and kinks, among others.

However, none were as fun as this last one, which replaced a wild Pokemon encounter with a real tree. You could say the game is Branch.

Pokemon Legends Arceus Glitch has trainers fighting a tree

Reddit user ‘Emo_-_kat’ shared the hilarious experience on March 18th on the Pokemon Legends Arceus forums with the caption “Y’all I fought a tree and won.”

In the gameplay clip, the trainer aimed his pokeball at a tree and displayed the battle icon that appears when players know an encounter will happen when thrown, and engaged it in battle.

The fan then used his Alpha Garchomp to attack him with Earthpower, which apparently was super effective – mostly because it was actually a buggy Croagunk and not a tree.

Fellow players raged in the comments, with two joking, “Take that mother nature” and “You kiss your mother nature with that mouth?”

Others compared the tree to real Pokémon: “It’s not a tree. This is Sudowoodo! You can say Earth Power is super effective.”

Emo_-_kat followed her post and replied to a fan who asked how the bug happened in the first place. “Made a mass escape and Crogunk appeared just outside the tree and kind of got stuck in there,” they explained. “Couldn’t throw and catch pokeballs because they would just bounce off the tree.”

So at the time of writing, the glitch seems to be an isolated case touch wood it won’t happen again for anyone else.

The Pokémon tree is already becoming a legendary meme. Who knows, maybe Sudowoodo could eventually get an evolution to match the power of the giant bark pile. The bizarre Pokemon Legends Arceus glitch has trees fighting you instead
