“It was very exhausting and it was very difficult because it was long days,” he told Showbiz’ Cheat Sheet. “For example, if I got four or five hours of sleep a night, that would be a lot of sleep. Food was sporadic and it’s not like you can just make food whenever you want. Or order food. You’re kind of stuck in one place and you just have to eat what there is to eat.”
Shawn Booth Recalls Emotional Distress During ‘The Bachelorette’
In addition to trying to find the right diet, Booth says drinking a lot is necessary The Bachelorette. “Drink a lot, I’m sure,” he continued. “It can be very stressful. So we tried to train as much as possible. Once we were in the villa it was easier, like the first two weeks since we had the whole big garden and brought some of our own equipment which was cool.”
“And there were a couple of personal trainers there too, which is great. But as the show progressed, the more travel, the more emotional stress, the more alcohol. All of that was hard to keep up with unless you exercised too much.” Booth finally suggested bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristol. She said yes, but the The couple eventually separated. Bristowe is currently engaged to someone else bachelorette Alum, Jason Tartick.
Post Office-bachelorette, has Booth considered some sort of detox program after being thrown out of his routine? “Like the whole detox thing, this is kind of a band-aid on a bigger problem,” he said. “I think something to get back to what works is just a really normal routine. Just like a healthy, balanced diet and exercise. All the other stuff is just some kind of mirage. And so you need to go back to what works for you. So for me, eat healthy, have my dog next to me and exercise with him and stay active.”
He loves routine and shares tips on how to start a health routine
Booth craves routine and being with him Golden Retrievers, Walter. He shared some advice for those who want to get back on track or start a new health journey.
“Especially in this social media era where you go there and you see everyone promoting it and saying they’re a personal trainer. It can be very difficult to figure out where to start. But whatever you start, I’d say set a small goal,” he advised.
“Because when you set yourself a big goal, it can be difficult for you to visualize that and imagine that you might be disappointed if you don’t achieve it in a short amount of time. It’s all about getting those small wins. So you can say to yourself, hey, I went to the gym twice this week. Boom. You go twice, tick that off. That’s a small win. It feels good because next week it’s getting the momentum for it. Okay, then go four times next week. Then add this beautiful, healthy and balanced diet. You just keep adding things and eventually it just becomes routine. And then you see the results you want.”
Shawn Booth also takes care of his furry sidekick Walter
Booth takes the same steps to make sure Walter is happy and healthy too. He shared why he feeds Walter ORIJEN Amazing Grains.
“As a personal trainer and gym owner, health and fitness are of course my top priority. And I have Walter who is my right hand man. He’s with me all day. And he does everything I do. He goes to the gym. We go for walks, bike rides and all that.”
“Just as poor nutrition can affect humans, the same is true for dogs,” he explained. “And many people don’t realize that the difference between regular old dog food and a quality food like ORIJEN can have a huge positive impact on them and their health. And I want him here for as long as possible. I want them to be as healthy as possible. And that’s why I love ORIJEN Amazing Grains.”
