When asked what advice would he give? Aubameyang, Gallas, 44, says: “Focus, work hard and get back to your best.
“I didn’t take it in the first place, because it wasn’t for good reason.
“It was difficult for me. That’s why it was difficult for me to accept.
“But you have to say, ‘OK. The club and the coach, have made that decision, and I have to find everything to refocus myself’.
“Sometimes it can help you. The captaincy can be a bit heavy sometimes.
“Captain can be very difficult. It doesn’t change anything because all people want is a good performance on the pitch, captain or not. ”

But Gallas admits Aubameyang’s ax will affect the squad both on and off the pitch.
He told Genting Casino: “Usually, the manager puts his trust in the captain.
“And, usually, the captain is the first person to represent the manager.
“If there is a small problem between the manager and his captain, it is not a good message for the team.”
