20s: Make a sex bucket list

These are the years when we have beautiful bodies but become so preoccupied with imperfections that we get too hung up on showing them.

Your twenties are great for sexual exploration and experimentation.

Most of us forge our careers during these years, and if you can pull off great sex, research shows you’ll get that promotion.

30s: Feeling Stressed? Why not try tantra?

Research shows that these are the years when our sex life can suffer the most.

Life gets a bit more complicated as it is often the time when we find a life partner and settle down, get married and start a family.

People’s priorities are changing and you may not have the freedom you had in your roaring 20s – but you can still have a great sex life.

A fairly common problem is mismatched libido, where one partner feels like they’re not getting enough sex.

It can be difficult to feel sexy when you’re a stressed-out parent, but don’t lose yourself or deprive your partner.

You can still keep the flames of passion burning by reminding yourself of the importance of touching your partner regularly and exploring alternative forms of pleasure when you’re not in the mood for penetrative sex.”

Hot Tip: Don’t long for the sex you just had with your partner, embrace the change. It might sound like a real passion killer, but plan for sex.

That way, you both know you have something to look forward to — some adult fun each week where you’re not talking about work, bills, or kids.

Take the kids to a friend or relative for a while and enjoy each other.

These are the years that are great for exploring tantra. Laying naked in bed next to each other and kissing head to toe is a great way to build intimacy and incorporate a bit of tantric sex.

40s: Stay in good shape to increase libido

These are the years when you really come into your own. Hopefully you are more financially stable and in a good place in your career.

If you have a family, chances are your kids are a bit older and less dependent on you, leaving you free to indulge in that naughty weekend.

I personally loved my 40s. That’s when I really discovered what I loved in bed and had the confidence to ask for it.

Hot Tip: Your body might not move like it did in your twenties, but if you take your health seriously, you can be just as fit — if not more fit.

Research shows that those who exercise have higher sex drives than those who don’t. So make sure you exercise regularly to pump endorphins, which help boost the brain’s production of the feel-good neurotransmitters that promote a healthy sexual appetite.

Keep everything healthy below by doing pelvic floor exercises daily. These exercises strengthen your pelvic floor, which leads to better sex.

Imagine sitting on a marble and tensing your pelvic floor muscles as if lifting them.

Try for three seconds, then relax for three seconds.

50+: Change position. Keep the romance alive

When you hit menopause, it doesn’t mean your sex life has to end.

Estrogen levels drop, which means you may experience a reduced libido. Many women also suffer from dryness. Low testosterone in men also usually means their sex drive is decreasing and can prove to be an awkward time for both genders.

This is where knowledge of tantric sex comes in handy as it is a topic that should be discussed so that neither partner feels guilty about their changed attitude towards sex. Sex can get better with a little work and the right mentality. You can have sizzling sex in your fifties through your seventies.

Hot Tip: There are some brilliant lubes out there like coconut oil, and almost any lube with glycerin is good.

Changing sex positions also helps. Stop thinking at the top. Side “spoon” positions are more comfortable and the male can lift your body for lift off.

You can change the time of day you have sex so that you have the most energy.

When you’re tired of penetration sex, ignite your senses by watching porn, reading an erotic novel, or listening to an audio book.

Talk to your partner about your desires or concerns, and if you’re in a long-term relationship, don’t forget about romance.
